Polished Stainless Steel Architectural Sculptures

Many customers contact our team at P & C Metal Polishing, Inc. seeking polishing services for unique fabrications, such as the sculpture seen here.
These sculptures are constructed of 304 stainless steel and were fabricated from plates that stood 3/8 inch thick, 60 inch x 120 inches long.
The poles on which they stand measure 36’ in length and have a maximum diameter of 8” which tapers down to 4”.The stainless steel surface was given a #4 finish according to customer specifications. Due to the intricacy of the sculpture, the individual components were polished prior to fabrication to ensure we could reach all of the relevant surfaces.
After fabrication, areas were touched up by P & C as needed due to the fabrication process. While much of our work does revolves around the polishing of standard shapes such stainless steel sheets directly from the mill, this project represents one of many instances in which we were able to accommodate unusual workpieces by employing innovative workholding and polishing techniques. The customer was very pleased with the quality and thoroughness of work that we provided on this project.
